MEMBERSHIP

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy varies across different memberships

Recurring Memberships:

Biweekly Cancellable: This membership can be cancelled at any time free of charge. At the time of cancellation the membership can still be used until the current two week period has expired. Be sure to cancel before your Friday billing to not incur any extra costs.

Biweekly Term: This membership cannot be cancelled within the first year of usage. If it must be cancelled you will be required to pay a $130 fee. Consideration of free cancellation will be given to those who are experiencing extenuating circumstances, such as unforeseen injury or relocation.

Term and Concession Memberships: Due to the nature of these memberships cancellation is not possible since these memberships expire after a period of time. 

Can I freeze a membership/put my membership on hold?

We offer free holds on all memberships. Hold durations are a minimum of two weeks to a maximum of six months. To do so contact the office at (709) 896-2298

Is there an age requirement to get a membership?
ANSWER

All users must be 16 years of age to use the gym on their own. Younger users have a couple options to attend the gym. Age 15 may attend the gym under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Certain restrictions apply. Younger users may inquire about youth fitness classes under the supervision of a certified Gear’s Gains Personal Trainer.

Will I get a key FOB?

How do I sign up for an account?

All gym users sign up for an account when they sign up for the gym with the email and password created during sign up. If you are not a member however you can also get into the portal by hitting the ‘Enquiry’ button on the sign in page

How do I download the app?

To download the app you can search for ‘Gymmaster Member’ in the app store. Alternatively you can follow the following links:

I forgot my password, now what?

You can hit the forgot password button on the sign in page to create a new one, alternatively you can message us, call us, or stop into the store and we can send you a link to create a new password. 

Why do I need to use the Portal/App?

The portal and app have many useful features for Gear’s Gains. Here is where you can purchase products, look at upcoming classes, book services such as personal training, and much more. It is a hub for all things Gear’s Gains.

How do I purchase supplements or gym gear?

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes we do. We offer $20 and $50 increments as well as time based gym membership gift cards. 

What is your return policy?

You may return and unopened supplement with a receipt. You may also return any equipment or clothing items if they are unworn, unwashed and in original condition. 

Can I buy everything online that is in the store?

We offer Locker Rental, Towel Service, Saunas, Showers, and a Supplement Shop.

What type of weight equipment do you have?

Our gym consists of a wide variety ion equipment including:

• 8 Station Rig for a variety of barbell and bodyweight exercises such as: Squats, Deadlifts, Bench Press, Pull Ups and much more
• Complete dumbbell set from 1-125lbs
• 10 Barbells and 5000lbs of weight plates to accommodate many people
• 14 Selectorized weight machines for the entire body
• Leg Press
• Hip Thrust
• 8 Station Jungle Gym 

What type of cardio do you have?

We have a wide variety of cardio machines including: Treadmills, Ellipticals, Upright Bikes, Recumbent Bikes, Airbike, Stepmills, and a Jacobs Ladder.

Do you have fitness classes?

Not at this time. Due to COVID we stopped offering classes to allow for adequate spacing of the gym equipment for members. 

Do you do training plans?

Yes we do, our training plans are our specialty. We create and deliver plans throughout the Trainerize App. It comes equipped with everything you need to succeed such as a training schedule, a personalized exercise regimen determined from the initial consult created with only your goals in mind, motivation knowing someone is keeping you accountable, and more. Do you offer Nutrition plans?

We do not offer meal plans. However we do offer nutrition guidance. We can help develop a plan to help you succeed with your nutritional goals. Book a consult to discuss further. 

I am looking to lose weight/build muscle. What can you offer?

We offer all inclusive training plans for this. We schedule your year based on your needs and your schedule. Choose the best training plan and nutrition approach determined during an initial consultation and again throughout the year. Book a consult to discuss further. 

I am looking to join a club, do you have anything like that?

We have a Strength Sports Club called Bigland Barbell. We have a Facebook Group, and meet up every so often to train in Powerlifting, Strongman, and more. Message us for more information,

What happens if I forget/lose something at Gear's Gains?

If you lose something at Gear’s Gains the items will be placed in the lost and found in each change room. Valuables are generally held in the office however. If you have lost something you can stop into the store or call 709-896-2298. 

What are your busiest times?

Our busiest times vary. On the weekdays the busiest time is 3pm-8pm. Before Work and on Lunch hour is also fairly busy. Weekends do not generally have peak hours and have a consistent stream of members throughout the day. 

What are your hours?

Our Gym is 24/7/365. Our Store Hours are as Follows: Monday-Friday: 9am-9pm Saturday: 10am-8pm Sunday: 12noon - 8pm 

I need a membership but the store is closed. What can I do?

If you have a key fob, you can register for a new membership here. If you do not have a key fob, you must wait until we are open to recieve your fob.

How do I get in after hours if my fob isn't working?

There can be a number of reasons why this may happen.  First off, try again and pull harder on the door which may stick in various weather conditions.  If that doesn’t work scan again.  If it beeps twice this likely means your membership has expired and you’ll have to purchase a new one online here, or in store during business hours.  Lastly if none of these is the case it may be a problem with the system call 709-897-7259, and we will investigate the problem for you anytime 24/7.

COVID-19

Because of COVID-19, do I need to sign up for a time slot?

No, Currently at Alert Level 2 we do not have a booking system. Our gyms capacity is high enough to hold the maximum number of people we typically experience, and our spacing and floor guidance allows for the recommended adequate spacing rules for COVID-19. 

Is there a maximum capacity I should be aware of?
ANSWER

The Maximum Capacity at Alert Level 2 is 35 in the main gym, 10 in the Yoga Room, and 4 in each change room and store. Throughout the day we are consistently under this capacity. 

What are the mask/social distancing rules?
ANSWER

Masks are required everywhere in the gym. The one exception to this rule is while exercising. You may remove your mask while performing exercise. Your mask must then be put back on after completion of the exercise. 

What are you doing to keeping us safe?

Gear’s Gains takes all of the necessary precautions for COVID-19 as recommended by Public Health. Our floors are clearly marked with arrows and dots where necessary to maintain physical distancing. Gear’s Gains provides hand sanitizers, disinfectant, and washed towels throughout the facility to sanitize yourself and all the machines before and after each use. Our machines have been spaced 6 feet apart in most instances. Where it wasn’t possible to do so members may use every second machine.
